Virtual Radio means replacing CD’s, cart machines, turntables and audio consoles for PC-based digital playout, mixing & processing systems.
Bill will describe virtualization in detail by outlining the real applications in use today.
He’ll explore how broadcasters may now reap operational benefits and gains by capitalizing on I.T.’s investment in R&D and will discuss virtualization’s anticipated role in content creation and broadcast workflow in the future.
Lawo is a provider of virtual radio products, digital mixing consoles, routing systems, video solutions and turnkey systems for the professional broadcast industry. Their equipment is found in TV and radio stations, production companies, and theatres worldwide.
Bill Bennett joined Lawo in early 2015 after a 12-year consulting & contract engineering career.
He’s a career audio engineer and project manager, leading venue host broadcast & technical set-up and operations teams for several Olympics, and has managed and/or engineered broadcast audio for NBA, NHL, NFL and regional events. Bill also directed new media business development at QVC, and owned a laser display production company.
Chapter 58’s meetings are generally held on the third Thursday of each month. Information pertaining to meeting topics and locations can be found on this page, on our home page, and in monthly e-mail updates from our Chapter Chairperson. In the past, meetings generally were not held in April (due to the NAB convention), or during the summer months.
Through the generosity of our local-level Sustaining Members, Chapter 58 hosts an annual golf outing in July, and a Holiday Party in December.
If you have an idea for a monthly meeting, please let us know!
